Surveillance + Privacy
Critical Design Project

Creating solutions for trending problems that may
occur in the future. My area focused on privacy and mass
survillance in 2020.The solutions didn't have to be
comforting, but maybe more disturbing.
Our goal was to make people think of what the world could be like,
and make them discuss the topic.

2020
The future of surveillance has become ubiquitous, unviversal and unavoidable.
Total Surveillance has become reality.

Q-EYE Code
This is the outcome of my topic research.
A hybrid code that is given to each individual in society, each one is unique to that person and stores all their important information, mostly social aspects. The code is embeded in every video stream so that every camera is able to recognise and analyse the information automatically. The camera in the middle enables the person to scan other Q-Eye codes in their surrounding environment, and then access, upload and download that particular data from the specific code.
The code and camera work in conjuction with each other.
Q-EYE Tag
In a totalitarian society, the government controls the use of the code. Every individual is forced to where a tag. Applying algorithms to the codes allows the government to track and predict movements and events of people.
Q-EYE Glass
On the opposite side of the spectrum governments may choose to run an open society, where society benifits from using the code as well as they do, its a simple trade-off. No information is hidden, privacy becomes public by default. The glass eye piece allows users to scan other codes quickly for information.
